College Campus Crime is owned and operated by Constance "Crime Grrl" Smith as an online home-based business. Ms. Smith began College Campus Crime in 2009 but was temporarily halted due to a life-threatening illness. At this very writing again, the disease has returned again (lymphoma) and this time she refuses to allow anything to stop her. (check back often for full completion of this site) It's her belief that she must get the word out about "personal safety products"for the protection of both men and women who are returning or are attending college for the first time.

She became concerned when she continually heard on television, read in newspapers or saw online, college campus assaults, hazing, rape, burglaries, carjackings and murder. Digging a bit deeper, she discovered that the national sexual violence resource center states that "...for every one thousand women attending a college or university there are 35 incidents of rape each year".

It's now August and within the next few days, college campuses will be crawling with wide-eyed students ready to take on the world. The campuses will also be invaded by burglars, thieves, and unsavory individuals who are on the look for an opportunity to rip your student off, injure them or sadly, commit murder. Students must become familiar of the campus grounds layout, make an effort to learn where the campus security office and/or emergency centers are located and the quickest path to get there...your life may very well depend on this knowledge!

As owner of College Campus Safety, she's dead serious about the safety of college females and women in general. Students will be exposed to a whole new way of life the moment he or she steps onto campus. For many kids this is their first taste of freedom. It's my personal suggestion to those who are returning to campus or they're a freshman, learn how to be very attentive to persons or details that appear out of place. It's also a good practice to notice someone unusually friendly, appear out of the clear blue or could possibly be stalking you.

HAVE A PLAN! Be Proactive In Your OWN SAFETY! In the long run, it's really up to the student to keep themselves safe by any means necessary within the law.
